Tallinn and Riga 02–08.01.2017

The organisers of a non-standard trip asked me to enhance their eventful journey with a quest. The game had to link multiple locations and activities into a single narrative.

The script blended facts and fiction, real info about Riga, Sigulda, Tallinn and the writer’s own legends. It was all done to make the players feel like movie stars and keep the history from feeling like boring school stuff.

The project is remarkable for its complexity and the need to create games in several cities. Also for the friendly players and professional colleagues. We will meet again in Greece. But that’s a whole other story…

FIND THE TEMPLAR TREASURE!

Enjoy Quest — a team of experienced event organisers — invites you on an unforgettable journey through the Baltic States.

Stay in stylish hotels. Indulge in gourmet experiences at the finest restaurants in Riga and Tallinn. Celebrate Christmas with fun, like-minded people. Enjoy a night at the Riga Opera with a beautiful ballet performance. Feel the rush of adrenaline as you race down a real bobsleigh track. And even learn the art of chocolate-making!

All of this is part of an exciting quest game. Complete it, and you might uncover, or at least come closer to solving, the mystery of the Templar treasure.

Quest

In 1312, by order of the Pope, the legendary and powerful Templar Order was disbanded. Its leaders, along with hundreds of knights, were executed. Yet, the vast treasures the Templars had amassed over centuries vanished without a trace.

According to legend, the Templars’ wealth was so immense that, in the hands of a single ruler, it could shift the political balance of all Europe. To prevent such power from falling into the wrong hands, the treasure was divided and hidden.

Some of it, as the story goes, found its way to the lands of modern-day Estonia and Latvia — territories once under the control of German knightly orders. Clues to the treasure’s fate still linger on the streets of Tallinn and Riga, waiting to be discovered. But no one has yet managed to crack the code.

Perhaps you will.

Join us in this thrilling quest and take your chance to uncover the mystery.

Another exciting quest in the series of international events Enjoy Quest took place.

Sardinia, Sochi, Georgia, Caucasian Mineral Waters and Karachaevo-Cherkessia… And now Latvia and Estonia, Riga and Tallinn have joined the geography of the countries and cities we have played.

Day #1

On January 2, 2017, the grand opening of our quest adventure took place at Skyline Bar — the highest in Riga. After arriving at the hotel, participants had just enough time to freshen up and dress for the festive evening.

This would be the last time we’d see their bright, well-rested faces in our reports. Because ahead of them lay intense mental challenges and tedious trials that even the most prepared might struggle to endure!

But don’t worry — spoiler alert: they all made it to the finish line alive and unharmed.

The evening was both elegant and full of energy. Teams introduced themselves, choosing names that reflected their spirit and character. Live music set the mood, with performances by the legendary Latvian band Bad Habits and Riga’s top DJRob4real, who kept the crowd energised all night.

Special guests added even more sparkle to the evening. The band Word Game lit up the stage with their timeless hits. Our participants joined in, singing along and showing off their talents in the first creative challenge of the quest.

We’d also like to give special thanks to our exclusive travel partner, Dolce Vita Travel, who ensured a smooth arrival and a comfortable stay for all participants.

DAY #2

The second day of our stay in Riga was packed with events. The highlight was undoubtedly the first official game day of the quest, set in the heart of the Old Town.

After a morning briefing at the hotel — organised by our partners at Quest.lv — participants set off to tackle a series of challenging tasks. These required sharp logic, quick thinking, and fast movement between stages. Coming right after the festive opening night, it was no easy feat!

Nevertheless, all teams successfully completed the mission and finished the day at one of the most iconic and atmospheric spots in Old Riga — Rozengrāls restaurant. Gathered in its cosy medieval hall, the teams recapped the day’s twists and turns, sharing laughs and impressions over a well-earned meal.

The evening concluded on a high cultural note with a visit to the Riga Opera House, where everyone enjoyed a bold and unconventional performance of La Traviata.

Day #3

One of the most vivid and unforgettable experiences for both adults and children was the trip to Sigulda. It was a true gem of the journey.

The excursion was led by the captivating guide Svetlana and arranged by our exclusive travel partner Dolce Vita Travel. It quickly became a highlight of the entire event. Svetlana’s storytelling and deep knowledge impressed everyone so much that, upon returning, participants immediately asked for a private tour of Old Riga with her as well — a true testament to Dolce Vita Travel’s thoughtful approach to selecting guides.

Sigulda enchanted everyone with its breathtaking natural landscapes, mysterious caves, ancient castles, and — for the brave — a thrilling chance to race down a real Olympic toboggan track and feel like true champions.

Day #4

Can a morning start any sweeter than at a chocolate factory? This was yet another unforgettable highlight, thoughtfully prepared by the Enjoy Quest team in collaboration with Dolce Vita Travel.

At the Laima Chocolate Factory Museum, participants discovered the secrets of chocolate-making, crafted their own sweet creations, and even joined in on a fun mannequin challenge — a memory sure to last for years to come.

The evening brought a different kind of indulgence. Guests were treated to a delicious experience at Naples, one of Riga’s most stylish and popular restaurants. With authentic Latvian cuisine, freshly brewed beer, a dessert-making masterclass from the chef, and a joyful birthday celebration for Maria Rybkina, the day of January 5 became another highlight of the journey — filled with flavour, laughter, and warmth.

Day #5

On the fifth day of Enjoy Quest, new adventures awaited our participants — this time on the lively Fun Road from Riga to Tallinn. And the name didn’t disappoint: the journey was anything but boring!

Laughter, games, and shared stories made the road fly by, and by the time the group arrived in Tallinn, spirits were still high. Even after checking into the hotel, there was plenty of energy left for a fun-filled evening of karaoke and festive Christmas celebrations!

Final

On January 7, the third and final stage of the quest took place in Tallinn’s enchanting Old Town. By this point, the teams had already completed their creative challenge: filming and editing a short video on the theme “One Summer Day in the Baltics.” Naturally, creating a “summer” video in the middle of a snowy winter was no easy task! We hope to share these imaginative videos soon — with the authors’ permission.

That day, Tallinn greeted our participants with frosty air and fresh snow — the perfect backdrop for an epic finale. The teams were tasked with finding around 40 hidden objects scattered throughout the Old Town. The quest culminated in a festive feast at the medieval restaurant Olde Hansa, where, after solving a final cipher, the participants unlocked the chest containing the long-awaited treasure.

The award ceremony for all participants and winners took place right there, surrounded by candlelight, laughter, and medieval charm. And to top off the evening, the group enjoyed a relaxed walk through the cosy, colourful streets of Tallinn’s Old Town — celebrating not only their success, but the friendships and memories forged along the way.
