This year marked the ninth Rally in honor of International Women’s Day — the largest event of its kind in the world.

Every year in early March, thousands of women take part in a automotive adventure. How do we usually imagine a rally? A tough sport for men, huge cars, impassable roads… A test of human and machine capabilities taken to the extreme. The women’s rally (Sieviešu dienas rallijs) is the complete opposite. It is a celebration created exclusively for ladies. A festival that puts fun, excitement, and adventure first.

The ladies decorate their cars and choose unique outfits for their teams.

Throughout the day, from the start to the awards ceremony, the ladies receive prizes and gifts.

Concert

The day wraps up with a party with artists and musicians.

Competition and challenges

“But where’s the rally?” you may ask. Of course, the participants spend the whole day driving a specially prepared route, competing in agility at stops and competing for the main prize. Initially, the rally did take place away from the usual roads. But this time, the organizers decided to add a QUEST.

This year, Sieviešu dienas rallijs 2017 started simultaneously in two cities, and participants were offered two routes: one in Zemgale and the other in Vidzeme. For each route, I prepared a separate game with unique tasks that required quick thinking, speed, and team spirit.

The games gave the teams an opportunity to see Tukums and Jēkabpils from a new perspective, learn about their history and interesting facts, and see unusual landmarks.

The participants of Sieviešu dienas rallijs 2017 really enjoyed the car quest. This success changed the format of the Women’s Rally forever and had a huge impact on the development of the entertainment industry in Latvia.
