The luxurious music event “Fyre Festival” on a private paradise island turned into a nightmare and a scam. Scavenger hunt for a corporate event. Game based on the real events.
BORDO Agency approached me to create a team-building adventure game for 120 guests from Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. The concept and style of the quest were designed to match the theme and atmosphere of the event.
According to the quest storyline, players had to endure all the hardships faced by the scammed visitors of the “Fyre Festival”. Instead of being accommodated in a five-star hotel, players searched for clues in the abandoned building of Kapteiņu osta. In place of a polite tour operator, they found his corpse. It was time to forget about the promised party, as their main challenge was to escape from the cursed island.
For two hours, teams competed in agility, improvisation, and the art of solving unexpected puzzles. In the end, everyone came out a winner, as a spectacular party awaited them that night. On this occasion, it was the real deal, with no unpleasant surprises.
How does the “Fyre Festival” quest work?
The game is played on a special website, so players will need a smartphone or tablet with an internet connection. The quest works as follows: solve the riddle — find the hidden answer — input it on the game website — get the next task.
The tasks of the Escape Room game are varied: searching for and using game props, puzzles and ciphers, teamwork tasks. Participants can use hints to make the game more dynamic.
The team completing all the tasks faster and more accurately wins.
