Skrunda 2016–2017
In 2016, the abandoned but still guarded and inaccessible military town of Skrunda-1 was opened to the public. Together with the Brick Factory community of urban extreme tourism enthusiasts, led by Dmitry Buksov, a unique programme was created.
An immersive post-apocalyptic quest with actors and themed props, a campfire dinner, and a guided tour of the town led by a guide who loves abandoned places.
Plot
In an alternative reality, a nuclear strike was carried out in 1989. The flourishing region was turned into a lifeless wasteland.
Those who didn’t manage to leave these places had to take shelter in the underground vaults equipped with everything necessary for survival. Life in isolation with only one hope — to return to the surface again.
More than 30 years have passed. It was decided to send the group of scouts to find a safe place for a living outside the vaults.
