I guess we can send Burduko to Arcaneworks or Drazken Clan to quickly retrieve some rubies?

Speaking of Drazken Clan, we never made any new opening for Deep Spawn which let us mine even further. Relay orders to Lorgk telling him he can open entrances as he sees fit.
Also, order him to quickly fill the power vacuum left by killing Goran and his elite. Order Oggroth and Ugrokk to go to the villages of their origin to spread the news that Goran has been bested by Drazken Clan (I think it will be better to not tell that -we- killed Goran, but that it was collective might of Drazken... it will give more respect and credibility to take the "throne").
Lorgk should try to unite the tribes peacefully. He should give an example how great it is to be under Drazken, that as a collective their lives will be better and more prosperous. But if some refuse, don't resort to violence.
Also, set up fur trade.

Have the shamans (and Arkus) working on unified Magic language.

An idea occurs to me. I set Geomancy and Magnetomancy alike to flitting through the ground here, and happily enough I detect some veins of silver underground. I lash the magics to extracting such, as I tell Phohn (for once his body by me and visible) to keep the rest of the Deep Spawn here with him, and to collect the silver as it emerges. A plan begins to form in my mind, for a dual-tiered approach, to recruiting this purported combat magic master, this inebriated Monk. I stride forward with Keddic and Dulu beside me, and as we get within seventy feet of the teahouse, an old,long-mustachioed and balding man, a living pile of wrinkles peeks his head out of the third floor, and after seeing us approach unarmed, shouts s

Go in with the party and invite the Monk eat and drink with you.

Best way to get a man's friendship is through his stomach; This man anyway.

Introductions and the sort, talk about wine, tea, women and war and eventually get to politics.

It would be cool if you could invite the Jade monk to sit with you, but he likely has detected Ringo and the gang and has a rather large bone to pick with you.

Time to put that silver tongue to good use. If you don't want this guy to put a serious dent in our lifespan you will have to come up with a very good reason why you not only killed his apprentices, but ate their souls afterwards.

It may require you giving them back via the use of a P.Soul by placing them in a talisman or mortuary tablet or something like that.

Unless of course you want to have a super brawl and attempt to eat him too.[bad idea]

Quietly hissing torrent of of flame pours past me, impacting the gully I was just in with a kind of pop and sizzle.

I press myself into the shadow of the tree as yet another tongue of fire flickers out towards the town taking almost half a minute to complete the journey and impact a tall building... perhaps a church.

Those cannons might be a more important target than the elevator now, if you want there to be anything left of the town when you return.

"bwuhuh?"

My head feels like an overripe melon.

Too many sensations grate upon and assault my senses. I feel cool air over my body, a sense of vertigo, hear many strange voices, echoing, a wide space, a language that does not come easily to my tongue.

The smell of roasted meat, sweat, spoilt food, the sweet acrid smell of a still and something cloyingly thick like the smell of rotting roses if that makes any sense.

"...and then it just ended. I think some problems on her end. I heard sirens."
"I see. Expect anything to be affected by her?"
"What, the senokeshi? I don't think she even knows what she's saying half of the time. Last time I talked to her she mentioned something about songs and harmonies. Nonsense babble from someone slowly breaking down. I'd feel more sympathetic if she hadn't ignored the advice I kept giving her a year ago."

A week has gone by. The amount of human scientists in the base has increased, but they tend to leave the pair of you alone. Surprisingly, both to you and Zyeryh, you have indeed picked up on most things relating to the language the humans use. Not all human languages, of course, simply the one the majority of the scientists use.

You don't know it enough to actually try speaking it, of course, but you know enough to get the general idea of what is being said without relying on the stupid floaty thing.

When you and Zyeryh went back to discuss becoming double agents again, you were treated to an even briefer meeting.

"Come back in a month."

Ushered back to your base, it seemed to be getting ridiculous to you. Almost suspicious. What was taking so long for them to even consider reasonable discussion?

"At this rate the Empire's going to get to Earth before we even have a chance to do anything!"
"Calm down. I'm sure they have their reasons." Else you're going to go on a bloody rampage for being made to wait this long for no reason.
"Calm down?! For all I know they're just planning to take me to pieces to see how I work! I don't feel comfortable around them. I want... I want to go home, which is irritating me!"
"We were treated worse back home."
"I know! Which is what irritates me!"

You don't say anything but you've felt a lot more irritable recently. Completely irrational, you say to yourself

It's territorial, you realise. They're invading what you consider to be your home, and ancient drives to protect territory, in anticipation of young, are clearly starting to make themselves felt for both you and Zyeryh. But you can't exactly tell the humans to just get out of the base and leave the two of you alone. Even if they understood, would they feel it was a reasonable request? Would you and Zyeryh end up being punished for some form of insolence?

And then something else hits you. You must have fallen into the same denial as Zyeryh. In addition to having to try and peacefully co-exist with the humans lurking at the edges of your senses, as well as the possibility that any day the full force of the Empire is going to descend upon this world, you have larvae to worry about. You can't deal with all of this at once.

You sit down for a second to try and clear your mind. So lost in thought, you don't notice Zyeryh trying to guide you towards the medical room.

She waves a blade in front of your face. "Woryeh?" She looks upset.

You don't really know what to say or do right now.

Chapter VII
When the Student is Ready

This is the story of Tiffany Blake Kinsley.

After travelling to Bardsey Island, Tiffany met with the council of elders. After receiving a worrying prophecy from the clan Seer, the elders admitted Tiffany's kinship, and gave her full membership in the clan.
Now she must find a master willing to teach her.

It's time to begin.

Ask him if he has something he'd like to be called, since referring to him as "that daemon" is probably going to get extremely awkward around the clan.

Anyway, things to ask... if you could get some more information on the particulars of the Harrowing, that would be good. This guy was actually there, probably has an extremely good idea of what each side's motivations were and what methods they used. You might also ask if it's true that the Kinsleys and Rothwalds used to be one clan, then split up way back, and if he confirms it, ask why.

Motel 21; Venus City, Venus
1 July, 1999
10:06 Local time

My head hearts. No, that’s an understatement. Five beers and a fistfight makes my head heart. This is the sort of hang over that makes people give up the sauce. So it doesn’t bode well for me when the first thing I look for is Whiskey.

I suppose this bears some explanation. I met miss Whiskey Sour at the astroport bar last night, she was on my flight as it turns out. I don’t generally ask my clients for names, if I get picked up, I don’t want to know any. I don’t generally go to bed with them either, but Whiskey was something else. Terrible liar when she makes up that alias though.

The room is dark, the heavy brown-red curtains drawn over the air conditioner and blown gently as it kicks on. There’s green light filtering in from outside, the murky fog of a rainy Venutian day. She’s not in bed, the ugly comforter has slid off onto the ratty carpet. My jeans, shirt, jacket, shoes, and socks are distributed evenly over the far side of the room. I spy one sock draped over the lamp shade.

I stare blankly at the clock, check out is at eleven.<

The gun kicks more than it has any right to. An instant later I realize why as my leg seizes up, shocks every nerve up through my spine, and goes limp. EMP rounds.

The kill bot's torso slaps back in its cradling, spins, and falls from the air car it has assailed. The driver flips me off, can't blame him. Above, an oncoming truck lays into its horn, I throw my arms across my chest.

The truck rushes over top as my cabbie saves my hide again. The tractor lifts make my hair stand on end as I slink back inside. I pull a fresh cigarette from my pack. That settles the Killbot, but the astrocorp officer is sure to follow me at least this far.

We park at the edge of old town, next to a delicatessen set into a ruddy brick building that might have been a Sears-Roebuck in a past life, neon and tin signs spread all around the side of it. “Best of luck to you, son.” He says with a toothy grin.

I head in, the place is all white tile and clanging plates. A thin man

There isn’t much Herr Goosestep can do, legally, even if he barged in right now with fifty killbots. Venus is, technically, free. Which just means its impolite to shoot people in public.

“Not before sundown, bubbala. You’ll turn yellow if you start drinking this early!” She sighs and brings me corned beef on rye and a bowl of soup the size of my head. “Now, Johnny...” She starts as I try to look around her.

Its a pretty typical Old Town Venus crowd. There’s a French Rocketeer at the bar, he’s got an eyepatch, the strap crosses on the back of his crew cut hair, and the patch itself wraps around to his ear, black plastic. Probably prosthetic.

Momma smacks me to get my attention. “Johnny, I thought you’d be half way back to Earth by now. Have you even eaten since we landed? Just because you’re weightless most of the time doesn’t mean you don’t need to eat dear.” I apologize, she fixes my coat collar.
>>

The Frenchman is watching me, I can sense it as I cut a dumpling with my spoon. He’s probably not much for Americans, their rocketeers usually aren’t, but they’re the best pilots flying. They have to be.

I try to describe Whiskey to Mama. I don’t want to use the name she left on her note if I can avoid it. She scolds me for being “lascivious.” “When are you going to learn, Johnny, no girl named Whiskey Sour is gonna be good news.” She swears in Yiddish.

The kid behind the counter has been listening in, too.

Well, I guess that the Ancients were not that bright. Sure, they found a way to hop between worlds, but they might not have known what Uranium was. I don't think they had nuclear reactors or anything.

I am still not sure about exact isotope. I will run some tests when I get home.

I found little more of this, but I did not find anything that looks very useful. They probably just forgot these.

Pick a character to start. They all have their merits and liabilities. Tommy is a dangerous melee combatant and gunfighter, and possesses enough influence to be important in the criminal underworld. The Professor is the go-to man for dealing with science and technology but is basically in disgrace academically and in debt heavily. Penny is a face type character and voice of reason, usually.

Whichever character you pick will still be his or her own person. You'll be a voice to them, anchored to them and communicating telepathically.

The game will use the GURPS system. You'll get to see the sheet of the character you pick here. You, the players, collectively have your own sheet as well. You get to see that now, in the discussion thread.

This is an experiment. I'm using a lot of pre-made art from sidtube.com, and using the story telling game Sleep is Death to build scenes. I'm not a good artist, but hopefully you'll get the idea of what's going on.

Sherman switches the vocalizer on the computer off when you start giving him advice. He hears you, though the others cannot.
He thinks about your advice for a few moments, and performs a mental inventory of his supplies.

He also considers the risks. Practicing without a license, if someone catches me. Extra attention drawn to all the semi-legal and illegal stuff I've been doing (for one thing, I don't have a primate facility license for the experimental animals here). Becoming a known contact for this sort of thing by the rest of the mob. And I'm not a surgeon.

On the other hand, it is a man's life. And there is the money.

Finally Sherman says, "I think I can keep him alive anyway, until his regular doctor is available. I trust he's experienced with gunshot wounds? I've never had to do any real surgery."

Tommy says, "Great, yeah, he's a primo surgeon. If you can just keep Vince from bleeding out that'd be a big help. Lemme give the boys directions to here."

Sherman thinks back to you, You know, besides being good for actual cleaning, bleach is useful for defeating luminol tests. The only way for some detective to end up legally performing a luminol test here though is if police have gotten a search warrant. I'd like for that to not happen at all.

The living room is spacious, though sparsely decorated. A few drops of blood, here and there, mark Vince's passage through here.

Tommy's associate is fidgeting, standing just inside the doorway when you enter the living room. His suit jacket is covered Vince's blood. It appears he did not move much from there. He asks, "Vince patched up already doc?"

Tommy has the tv on and was watching a soccer match until you entered. He mutes it and looks over at Sherman expectantly.

Sherman says, "Regretfully no, though he is stable. The wound is bad enough that I would be remiss in attempting surgery rig

As you stuff all the items found in the last post into the bag (save the bat which you're equipping, and the piggy bank - what do you want to do with that?) you peer out into the hallway.

(Pic is a map of the hallway. grey arrow is where the light is, red door is the room you came out of.)

Val is a bit curious, so she hesitantly knocks on the door right across from hers.

there seems to be no response, just the sounds of someone sleeping, snoring lightly.

Upon explaining her problems, the Orb decided to help her try and stop Lord Vresch from conquering the planet. However, upon meeting him, Lord Vresch offered Coralina the position of LEADER OF THE WORLD. After a series of trials, Cora accidentally partially released Hope from her 16 years of entrapment, and then Rastin hijacked the orb for a succession contest to determine who will lord over Neotis now that he is dead. The orb is now held by Kal Royale, leader of the Men's Club.

See, Kal, this is why we wanted to go to you. You're a Doer. You're a fun guy. Hooray, Justice!
We were actually thinking of trying to bump off the ones most likely to try a hostile takeover. You know, the dangerous, crazy people. The kind Justice would have to stop anyway.
We thought Ragas seemed particularly sinister.
How's your relationship with Michael? You two practically live next to each other, right?
Of course, if you think anyone is MORE dangerous, we'd love to hear your thoughts as to why.
On an unrelated note, how's the family?

A pre-emptive strike? I like your way of thinking. Conflict is inevitable, and its to our advantage if we set it up on our own terms. Isn't that right, Kal?

Now let's look at who's involved.

There are only a small handful up here who represent a true threat to you in the faintest sense - Portman has access to all sorts of military equipment, Terra Kisaki is a powerful mage. Ragas is an arrogant, superstitious blowhard, but commands the largest guild and might have resources to be a threat.

Otherwise, you're dealing with scatterbrained geeks, bleeding hearts, and a butler the size of a gorilla. I doubt they'll pose a problem to you.

We need to start giving the rebels heavy assistance here.

Ask the rebels if they're still leery about nuclear strikes. If not, pick out a large, important, enemy concentration (a castle or the like) and nuke it. Attack several other targets with tactical missiles (5)

Deploy 300 light infantry armed with breaker weapons, and 300 powersuit infantry, 100 Broms, 10 super BRICs (Auto-Auto-Caster-Caster), 8 more APCs, 30 LUVs, 6 tanks, 6 MRLS and 5 Slowpokes to safeguard their core areas, and begin mounting a counter offensive.

36 gunships will support this effort, other aircraft will remain on standby to support specific operations, as will orbital strike assets. This force will be designated Task Force Valkyrie.

CONCEPT OF OPERATIONS FOR TASK FORCE VALKYRIE
The light infantry are to be deployed in platoon strength (24) person teams with the Rebels, their job is three fold:

First: they are to teach the Dryads how we fight, and learn from them how to survive in this environment.
Second: They are to call air, MRLS, and orbital strikes on enemy forces.
Third: they are to show the Dryad rebel

Hmm, our max str guys should be stronger than dryads. And we have over 80 of those. Lets try some traps and if they don't work then our guys gets to try capture at close range.

The traps should be something simple, like a spiketrap coated with tranq's strong enough to knock out elephants. Which might not work at them sadly but we can give it a try.

Then we need some restraints, something that can keep a MBT from moving. That should be enough to make sure these furry fucks can't get away.

And lastly we need some close combat stuff for our capture group. Contact tazers might work, atleast if they deliver a high enough voltage. And if that doesn't work then some very extremly sturdy batons or staffs should do the trick.

Then we can try to gather up enough subjects to engineer a plague towards the fuzzy bastards. Then it doesn't really matter if the Dryads open up more portals, because when the furries come through they will be infected and soon dying.

Welcome to Glukmil quest!

In this quest actions are decided, if they have a reasonable chance of failing, on a d20 roll. Rolling under the related stat: BODY, MIND, or TALK, is a success. Hitpoints decrease by one per successful attack, unless the scale of the attack is stupidly large, which will do more. Thus, suggesting an action requires an action as well as a roll. You may suggest which stat to use, but you can't use an axe with TALK. Be reasonable. As GM, I get final say on which stat applies or if an action is possible.

You can roll by typing 'dice 1d20' in the email field. Things like "walking" don't require rolls. Things like "Jumping across the twenty foot chasm" require rolls at a penalty which I will take off of your result.

/quest/ is just a collection voices in Glukmil's head. The actions aren't necessarily always going to be followed.

I have some things from the dwarves. I know they don't like kobolds taking things they need, so maybe taking some more things would make them mad.

I think the goblin is too fat to get through the bars like I did. If she wants to get out she will have to go another way.

I look up at the goblin and she looks very sad and sits down and pulls me close to her. She's warm. I guess... I guess I feel a little better :<
>>
No. 222327 ID: e64150
Lets get you a steel weapon. They value those so it'd be some good revenge. I think you are too small for a long sword (and dwarves don't make them anyway), so how about you find a dwarven knife. It'd be sword sized for you. You could also get a dwarven short sword, but it'd be two big to hold in one hand.

With the right tools and training you can remove those bars when you return here and lead a goblin horde into the heart of the fortress. THe halls will run red with dorfen blood and vengence will be yours.
